GLP-1's: Semaglutide & Tirzepatide
B12/MIC Slim Shots
Phentermine

How GLP-1 Medications Work for Medical Weight Loss:

01  Appetite Suppression:

GLP-1 receptors in the brain reduce hunger and increase the feeling of fullness after meals. This leads to reduced caloric intake and helps individuals better adhere to their dietary plans.

02 Metabolic Changes:

GLP-1 drugs enhance insulin sensitivity and reduces glucose production by the liver. This can help stabilize blood sugar levels and prevent overeating due to blood sugar fluctuations.

03 Slowed Stomach Emptying:

By slowing down gastric emptying, GLP-1 drugs slow down the time it takes for food to leave the stomach. This not only contributes to increased fullness but also helps regulate the release of nutrients into the bloodstream.

04 injected once weekly:

Semaglutide and tirzepatide injections are once weekly subcutaneous
injections that you can do at home or have it done in the office.

Aliva Balance offers the weight loss “Game-changer” compounded semaglutide. Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) weight loss prescription that works in the brain and the gut to help curb cravings. With prescription medications, it is possible to lose weight faster and easier than with traditional diet and exercise alone.

Additional testing can be ordered to diagnose and treat hypothyroidism, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, or hormonal imbalances that can make weight loss more difficult. This testing can be performed in office or you may use your insurance at your lab of choice.

While semaglutide has shown promising results for weight loss and the management of type 2 diabetes, there are certain disqualifications and contraindications that individuals should be aware of. It’s important to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new medication, including semaglutide. Here are some common disqualifications for semaglutide:

PERSONAL OR FAMILY HISTORY OF MEDULLARY THYROID CARCINOMA (MTC)

Semaglutide can increase the risk of developing MTC, a rare form of thyroid cancer. Individuals with a personal history of MTC or a family history of this cancer are generally advised against using semaglutide.

Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2 (MEN 2)

Semaglutide is contraindicated in individuals with a known history of MEN 2, a genetic condition associated with an increased risk of MTC.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Semaglutide’s safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid using semaglutide unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional.
